This report focuses on Audience Development Strategies, notably new content strategies for (new) audience acquisition, in terms of thematics (type of content), formats (text, audio, video, infographics, etc.) and distribution channels (web, newsletter, app, etc.). It examines marketing techniques both ‘on site’ and ‘off site’ (e.g., Search and Social) and discusses issues of resources both in terms of tech/tools and of talent, as well as potential impact on other revenue-generating activities such as advertising.The report's principal sources include primarily input from OPA Europe members (either in the form of presentations or points raised in internal discussions), as well as material collected from selected external sources such as trade Press and specialist newsletters/blogs.
The 30 page report includes an appendix of slides from the company presentations shared at the March 2023 OPA Europe best practice meeting in Barcelona.
